The Saudi Contractors Authority launched yesterday the activities of the (4th International Contracting Conference), under the patronage and attendance of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, at the Riyadh Exhibition and Conference Center, which will be held during the period 26-27 February 2024 AD in conjunction with the Big5 Saudi exhibition, which targets the attendance of more than 55,000 visitors to the exhibition.

The conference, in its fourth edition, constitutes a comprehensive platform and an opportunity to communicate with industry leaders and decision-makers, and a unique event in the contracting sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the aim of showcasing the latest technologies and equipment used in urban construction, and the contribution of smart cities to improving the quality of life, highlighting the concept of sustainability and its impact on the environment, and discussing the latest construction technology practices with the participation of more than 25 local and international speakers representing more than 40 countries, and reviewing the latest information, experiences and technologies.

Eng. Zakaria Al-Abdulqader, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Authority, explained For contractors, the launch of the fourth session of the International Contracting Conference comes in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing tremendous changes as part of Vision 2030, and part of this change is to achieve a sustainable contracting sector for the Kingdom.”

Al-Abdulqader added: “In line with the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, the Authority’s mission is to regulate and develop the contracting sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and enable it to build specialized capabilities and raise productive standards in the sector.

The conference targets “project managers, interior designers, owners in the public and private sectors, general contractors, architectural firms and suppliers, renewable energy companies, sustainable energy companies, future technology companies, engineering firms, legal firms and insurance companies, suppliers of heavy machinery and equipment, transportation and infrastructure companies, and developers.”

During the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, launched the alliance platform to be a center for contractors to search and communicate with other contractors to develop an alliance between the two parties to complete projects In the best possible way.

The Alliance platform aims to facilitate access to qualified contractors and experts and save resources and time in selecting the right contractor for the project. The platform also provides different types of alliances, including joint ventures, framework unions, and unincorporated unions. The launch of this platform is an opportunity to achieve cooperation and communication in the field of construction and building and promote sustainable development.
